Handwritten PDF to text
Upload a scanned PDF of handwriting, pick the page, and get the text back. Ordinary PDF text extraction can't do this, because a scan has no text inside it.
Files are processed and immediately discarded. We don't keep them.
Why normal PDF to text doesn't work on scans
A scanned PDF is really a picture of each page. There is no text layer inside it, so standard PDF-to-text tools return nothing. DocVolta looks at the page image and reads the handwriting itself.
It reads one page at a time: choose the page number, then run it again for the next page. For typed PDFs that already contain text, PDF to text is faster.
Questions
Can it read every page at once?
Not yet. It reads one page per run; choose the page number before you start.
My PDF is typed, not handwritten.
Use PDF to text instead. It's instant and free for 20 PDFs a day.
Are my files stored?
No. They are processed and discarded as soon as the text is returned.
